Butterflies and Mountain Lillies

Updated: Nov 28, 2021

At the time when I was just getting started taking in mail-in work, I was contacted by Daisi Toegel to quilt the very first quilt top that she had made. She found me on Instagram and I jumped at the chance to be able to quilt her top for her. Daisi had made a Missouri Star pattern called Mountain Lily in a rainbow of colors. We made arrangements for her to send me the quilt and I anxiously waited....and waited...

The package was lost. After about two weeks Daisi and I were both on a first-name basis with the manager of the local post office. Promises were made to search and locate the package, and lo and behold, it was found. I received it on my birthday, which made the day extra special!

Daisi chose a pantograph called Ginger Flight, an Apricot Moon Design from Urban Elementz. I used Aurifil thread color 1231, Spring Green. I love the way the butterflies swirl effortlessly over the lilies. And look at that fun backing! There's no other way to describe this quilt except for HAPPY.

I was so thrilled with how this quilt turned out! It's always an honor to be able to collaborate with other quilters to finish special quilts that will be loved for a long time to come. Thank you, Daisi! If you have a special quilt that needs a loving touch, head to my work request form to get started! I'd love to work with you for your next project.
